Comets
Comets fly in space. They are ice and dust and gas, and they go round the Sun. The word comet means‘hairy star’ because there is a long tail behind a comet. The longest tail on a comet was 330 million kilometres!
One comet is Halley’s Comet. Astronomer Edmund Halley saw this comet in 1682. He said, ‘You can see the comet every 76 years.’ He was right. Last time we saw it in 1986. When will we see it again?
